Following The Program In It's Entirety Is Most Profitable

The Back-car-cise videos can be handed out and sold individually if the doctor so desires, for a suggested retail price of $24.95 to $29.95. But when the program is followed in its entirety, the doctor experiences better results, including increased profitability for your practice.

When used as a complete program it is considered a “Monitored Therapeutic Exercise Program”. Since you or your staff perform pre and follow up flexibility exams, and you check their progress approximately once a week, you can charge more for the program than just the price of the video tapes. For each three tape series many Doctors often charge $160, though you can bill whatever is appropriate for your office.

We suggest that the patient pay for all two or three tapes at the beginning of the program, as this improves patient follow through. It is important to remember that you should still hand the tapes out one at a time, as the patient’s progress warrants. This keeps the reward system in effect and maintains patient control. Explain to the patient that this is not just three video tapes but rather, a Monitored Therapeutic Exercise Program. Your patients will be more inspired to follow through than if it were just an exercise video tape alone.

Script

The doctor or assistant can say, "We are putting you on a monitored therapeutic exercise program where we will be monitoring your progress over one to three months and giving you some pre- and post- flexibility exams. We will provide you with a three video tape series, issuing one tape at a time. Your improvement will dictate how quickly you progress through the program."

The Back-care-cise Program Is Covered By Most Insurance

You can bill this out with insurance code 97110. This is a physical therapy code that is called Therapeutic Exercise. It is given a value of approximately $40 or more. Consequently, since the program is executed over one to three or more months, the entire charge can be broken up over that period, perhaps at each flexibility exam until you have billed your entire $160 program fee or whatever is appropriate for you.  There are other choices and possibilities for codes which are included in the Doctors Viewing Kit and the Introductory Special
